brief history:
she was born in brighton, england twenty-seven years ago, the youngster sister to an already four year old boy named joshua. josh was delighted to have a little sister, and was often eager to aid his parents in helping the young baby whenever she was tired or hungry, or upset. for the first three years of her life, flynn was doted upon and she toddled after her brother everywhere, fast growing attached to him and wanting to follow in his larger footsteps. their baby brother was born three years after flynn, the final addition to the family. this time it was flynn wanting to help with the baby too, and the three siblings grew up as close as any other. josh was occasionally pushed to the back a little - being older, coupled with the fact that flynn - whilst the middle child - was female and therefore protected a little more than the boys meant he lacked attention from his parents at times, but what they lacked, he gained it from his siblings, who adored him all the same. occasionally they fought as they grew older, particularly in their teenage years but they got along more than they didn't. they kept each other entertained, playing cricket or football or cowboys and indians or hide and seek in the back yard or, when they were a little older, in the woods near-by. by all means with the three of them being in separate years, they should have drawn apart a little, however they didn't, determined to stick together. when flynn was eleven her parents started to move a lot, her father was trying to get good enough work to support his eventing career and sometimes it was difficult. their education became spotty, lacked a little as they travelled often for a few years before finally their mother begged her father to find somewhere and settle, and they did - on the outskirts of london.
at first this seemed like a great choice, however one evening it all took a terrible turn. now seventeen years of age, josh had been out with friends for the night and upon working back through the lesser known streets of london he'd been mugged. he hadn't been shot, but the mugger had been unkind, and flynn was awoken at two am in order to be dragged to hospital to find out that her eldest brother had been stabbed in the abdomen. he survived thank god, but they quickly packed up and moved back to the countryside, where flynn met the love of her love. she was sixteen when she first met him, he was two years above her but he was sweet, and kind, and romantic, and swept her off her feet. his name was tom and within months of meeting they were dating. she fell hard and fast for the man, and a few years later down the line, they moved in together. she had always wanted to write, and so once she had finished college and then later, a couple of courses at university she settled down with a meaningless waitress job at a cocktail bar in order to help get by a little, whilst her days were devoted to writing and keeping the place in order. it was difficult though, her and tom had moved into the middle of the capital city - and whilst she'd been dubious about moving to london she soon came to adore it, and they lived a student life -partying often, their furniture mismatched but not a care in the world for them. the problem was, it meant that flynn wasn't going anywhere in her life, and it didn't help that as she hit the age of twenty-one she discovered she was pregnant.
it was way too early for the both of them, and cracks soon began to show in their relationship. upon hearing the news, tom stumbled out of the apartment and left. she heard nothing from him for two days until finally he came back....with a ring and proposed. afraid to be alone, flynn accepted and nervously they set a tentative date for some time before the baby would be born. it was by all means a shotgun wedding, but on the build up toward it the plans got them excited and they found themselves looked forward to it, excited by it. they married each other in love...and a few months later had a baby. one year later, flynn filed for divorce. within two weeks of baby liam being born, tom began to get flaky. he would go to work and come home late, claiming to be out with the boys, leaving flynn to deal with the baby all day every day, and she soon slipped into post-traumatic stress disorder, struggling to keep it together. they argued often, their romance died, their passion fell away. tim would switch his phone off for hours at a time, stop coming home some nights, or come home drunk and ignore the baby, ignore his wife. finally, he came out with that fact that he'd cheated on her. devastated, hurt beyond belief, flynn left with liam for a week and returned to her parents, needing a break, needing to heal. she ended up staying for three weeks, during which after a while her and tom began to talk again, slowly at first, but finally decided upon counselling. they went into it whole-heartedly and the rocky marriage settled a little. the next few months were better, and flynn thought everything would be okay until tom lost his job. liam was only six months old when the arguments began again, the staying out late, the secrecy and it all became too much. once again, tom cheated and this time flynn couldn't forgive him. she took liam and once again took off with her son. instead of going home, her eldest brother offered his spare room, but after only a few weeks she felt bad for keeping him and his wife up when the boy cried and all their things were in the way, so back to her parents she went. she filed for a divorce when she was twenty-three, but at first tom refused to sign. in the end it went to court, during which time she set about finding herself a new job, training in a new profession as a nurse in the hope it would open more opportunities for her.
she earned herself enough money in order to support herself and her son and moved away to sussex, becoming a qualified nurse when she was twenty-four after studying hard. she met a guy and dated him briefly for a year and a half, but tom was regularly getting in the way, either by turning up unannounced in order to try and still profess love for his finally now ex wife (who managed to get the divorce finalised when she was twenty-four), or try to take the now two and a half year old child away on the idea that it was 'his weekend with liam' when it wasn't. flynn's new boyfriend mark struggled with the ex constantly being in the way, and not only that but occasionally struggled with liam too. he didn't like coming second to flynn's son, nor did he like having to deal with a child, and no less a child that wasn't his. they began to argue and flynn quickly broke up with him just after she turned twenty-six, afraid that they wouldn't make it through the rocky patches and once again she would end up in a lifeless, dead end marriage and then with a second ex-husband who constantly harassed her. for what felt like the hundredth time, flynn packed up and moved herself and her son to hickstead, where she managed to get herself a cheap apartment and two jobs as a nurse and waitress, learning how to struggle through as always with two jobs and a now almost five year old child. she still struggles from time to time, her jobs make it hard to balance work and family life but she manages and she wouldn't change her son for the world.

overall personality:
flynn's a pretty good person to know. she's handy in a crisis, with quick-thinking built into her thanks to her fast paced jobs she's good at thinking on her feet and works well in a pressured situation. she's very hard-working and used to working herself past her limits, and in fact will do so for other peoples benefit. she'll go far to help someone, even a stranger, as long as she feels that they've earned it or deserve it. she can seem quite brisk and overly professional at times, but she's a guarded woman who's been hurt many times and she keeps a lot about herself, to herself. she's got a very sweet nature deep down, a soft centre that loves too easily, trusts too easily and gives out too many second chances. on the outside she's a little harder, guards herself carefully, not just from being hurt but from the horrors at work she sees. she's quite maternal though and adores children, with the hope of a big family in the future. she's incredibly family orientated and believes in family first, over work, and therefore if you're self obsessed or all about your career you're unlucky to gain her favour. she tries not to judge but she finds it hard to keep a clear mind about people who seem to have it all, and can occasionally come across as a little bitter and hard-edged than she actually is deep down. she had really good people skills, particularly those who are distressed or with people who are distrusting, even if sometimes she's very much an over-thinker. honestly she's a good person, she's just so hard working she forgets how to have fun and how to let her guard down so that people can see there's more to the woman than family and working to the bone.
